Cactus Park

Free Entry, Skyline Views, and the Best Knafeh Stop in Al Jaddaf

Cactus Park sits in Al Jaddaf right by Dubai Creek, and it is genuinely one of those places that surprises you. Free entry, over a kilometre of well-maintained walking paths, towering San Pedro cacti, plump Golden Barrel cacti, and views of the Burj Khalifa in the background — it sounds like it should not work as a combination, but it does. The park is open 24 hours and the café on site is worth stopping at for the knafeh alone.

For families it is best treated as a short outing rather than a full day — a leisurely loop takes about 30 to 45 minutes, which is about right for small children before they start asking to leave. The paths are pram-friendly and wide enough to move comfortably.

Insider tip: go at sunset. The light on the cacti in the early evening is genuinely beautiful, the skyline starts to light up behind them, and it is noticeably cooler than midday. It turns a quick walk into something worth lingering over.
